After-School Creative Art Program

Three young girls sit at a table, each with a large clay flowerpot and various painting supplies, preparing for a pottery painting activity.

A Different Kind of After-School Experience

Little Luminaries offers a peaceful, beautifully prepared environment where children are invited to slow down and explore art at their own pace.

Rather than following step-by-step instructions, children are encouraged to create freely using high-quality materials such as canvas, clay, and mixed media.

Each session is designed to support creativity, confidence, and emotional regulation—giving children the space to reset and express themselves in a meaningful way.

A calm, thoughtfully designed art experience where children can unwind, create, and feel inspired after the school day.

✨Coming Soon✨

Little Luminaries After-School Art programs will begin launching this summer.

🌿 OUR APPROACH

Each session is rooted in a simple, meaningful flow:

Observe
Children are introduced to real artists and artwork in a gentle, age-appropriate way

Wonder
We encourage children to share what they notice and feel

Create
Children explore materials freely—without pressure or expectations

Reflect
We celebrate each child’s unique work and creative process

ARTIST-INSPIRED LEARNING

Children are thoughtfully introduced to artists from a variety of styles, cultures, and time periods.

Rather than copying artwork, children are invited to:

  • Observe and discuss what they see

  • Notice colors, textures, and shapes

  • Draw inspiration in their own way

This approach builds visual awareness, appreciation for art, and confidence in original thinking.

EXPLORING MULTIPLE MEDIUMS

Children are given the opportunity to work with a wide range of materials throughout the program, including:

  • Paint (watercolor, acrylic, tempera)

  • Clay and sculpting materials

  • Natural elements and textured materials

  • Drawing tools and mixed media

  • Collage and layered materials

Each medium is introduced as an invitation to explore, allowing children to discover how materials feel, move, and respond.
