After-School Creative Art Program

A Different Kind of After-School Experience

Little Luminaries Art Co. brings a thoughtfully designed art enrichment program directly to schools, creating a calm and inspiring space where children can slow down, explore, and create after the school day.

Each week, students are introduced to a new artist, technique, or medium through engaging, hands-on art invitations. From painting and mixed media to sculpture and nature-inspired projects, every lesson encourages creativity, curiosity, and confidence while allowing each child to develop their own unique artistic voice.

Our Montessori-informed approach values the creative process over perfect results. Rather than following step-by-step instructions, children are given the freedom to experiment, make choices, and discover the joy of creating in a supportive, beautifully prepared environment.

Designed for children ages 4½ and up, our weekly program provides schools with a high-quality enrichment experience that nurtures focus, independence, self-expression, and a lifelong appreciation for art.

🌿 OUR APPROACH

We believe every child is naturally creative.

Our role isn't to teach children exactly what to make—it's to create an environment where they feel inspired to explore, experiment, and express their own ideas with confidence.

Each lesson begins with an invitation to create, often inspired by a well-known artist, a beautiful piece of nature, or an engaging artistic technique. Children are introduced to new materials and ideas before being encouraged to make their own creative choices, resulting in artwork that is personal, meaningful, and uniquely theirs.

By focusing on the creative process rather than a perfect end result, children develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and a genuine love of making art—all while having fun in a calm, thoughtfully prepared environment.

ARTIST-INSPIRED LEARNING

Children are thoughtfully introduced to artists from a variety of styles, cultures, and time periods.

Rather than copying artwork, children are invited to:

  • Observe and discuss what they see

  • Notice colors, textures, and shapes

  • Draw inspiration in their own way

This approach builds visual awareness, appreciation for art, and confidence in original thinking.

EXPLORING MULTIPLE MEDIUMS

Children are given the opportunity to work with a wide range of materials throughout the program, including:

  • Paint (watercolor, acrylic, tempera)

  • Clay and sculpting materials

  • Natural elements and textured materials

  • Drawing tools and mixed media

  • Collage and layered materials

Each medium is introduced as an invitation to explore, allowing children to discover how materials feel, move, and respond.
